Bondira was born out of a simple love: the feeling of pulling on a soft knit cardigan on a cool morning and instantly feeling more like yourself. We're a small, Australian-based label based in Bowral, in the heart of the Southern Highlands of NSW — a part of the country that knows a thing or two about crisp mornings, cosy layers, and the kind of weather that makes a good cardigan feel like a necessity rather than a luxury.

Our Story

Bondira started as an idea between people who were tired of choosing between "cosy" and "put-together." So much of women's knitwear felt like it had to be one or the other — oversized and shapeless, or polished but stiff. We wanted to build a small edit of cardigans that could be both: pieces you could throw on over pyjamas at 7am, and just as easily wear out the door for coffee, errands, or a slow Sunday that turns into something more.

That idea became a small, considered range of knitwear — cardigans like our Adele Soft Heart-Button Knit Cardigan, with its gentle detailing that feels a little more special than your everyday layer; our Aivy and Angel patterned knit cardigans, designed for those who want texture and print without it feeling loud; the Anna Relaxed Fit Open Front Cardigan, made for effortless, easy-to-wear comfort; and the Aria Longline Knitted Cardigan, for when you want a little extra coverage and drape.

What We Believe In

Comfort first, always. Every piece in our range is chosen because it feels as good as it looks. If we wouldn't want to live in it, we won't sell it.

Simple, honest style. We're not chasing trends that disappear in a season. We look for knitwear with a bit of longevity — pieces with soft details, easy silhouettes, and colours and patterns that mix well with what's already in your wardrobe.

Considered, not overwhelming. You won't find hundreds of near-identical products on our site. We'd rather offer a small, thoughtful range of cardigans we genuinely believe in than an endless scroll of options.
